We are aware of the reported global cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the vendor behind Canvas (Bruin Learn). We are actively monitoring vendor updates and assessing any potential impact to UCLA services.
At this time, UCLA has not been notified of any direct impact to our campus. Bruin Learn remains available and operational.
Updates will be posted on our Security Advisory Page (This Page) and Service Status Page.
Some third-party tools may experience interruptions as vendors make precautionary changes in response to Instructure system updates. If any UCLA-integrated tools are impacted, we will communicate directly with affected users.
DTS and Bruin Learn administrators are continuing to monitor the incident and test for any impacts within UCLA’s Canvas environment. We will share updates as more information becomes available.

Instructure recently experienced a cybersecurity incident perpetrated by a criminal threat actor. Instructure is actively investigating this incident with the help of outside forensics experts. Instructure is working quickly to understand the extent of the incident and is actively taking steps to minimize its impact. For additional updates, please visit the Instructure Status Page.
